President’s / Captains’ day proved to be  fun, full of laughter and the occasional groans. Sixty four members, family and friends lined up for “Last Man Standing.”  Six teams competed to be the last person in their team to be knocked out.

During the break, we were treated to a wonderful “Afternoon Tea”, with rounds of delicious sandwiches,  wonderful cakes  and scrumptious scones.  Thanks goes to the Social Committee Ladies who provided a delicious buffet and manned the Kitchen.

The final  six remaining players, three ladies and three gents  then competed for the overall title of  LAST MAN STANDING. In a tight final the  LAWSON JONES proved triumphant.

Thanks must go to Anne Hutton, Geoff Cave and Captains’ – Sue Aplin, and  John Rumball – for arranging such a fun afternoon.  Also, a huge thanks to the umpires  Alan Davies, John Rumball, Sue Aplin and Geoff Cave  who adjudicated the ends throughout the afternoon.

A raffle completed the afternoon. Funds raised totalled £366.58 which will support The  Wessex Cancer Trust.

Finally, thanks to all the members who helped make this a day to remember!!!
